Ok I am gettings lots of calls for people wanting their Talbot Express windscreens sealing up. It’s a very common problem for the Talbot Express windscreen to leak. Picture 1 shows you the product I use for sealing, it’s the best stuff on the market. I don’t mess about trying to botch the job up. What I do is remove the windscreen and refit with a brand new rubber, the new rubbers are available and not very expensive. Once the windscreen is removed I clean the aperture removing any old sealer and I check there is no rust that could cause any problems. Picture 2 shows me refiting the windscreen, it’s an indirect fitment so I lip the rubber over the aperture this is done by using thick string. This is how I reseal a Talbot Express windscreen. In picture 1 it shows you some of the equipment I use, we have the windscreen sealer, a barrel gun, Plastic dibber, and glass cleaner. Now we have the windscreen refit with a new rubber we seal the windscreen by running sealer on the glass side and the body side. In picture 2 you can see I have pushed the nozzle in between the rubber and the windscreen, I then go round the windscreen with the sealer, The glass side I do the sides and bottom and the body side I do top and sides. Once the windscreen is sealed up we remove the excess sealer, we spray some windscreen cleaner on it then use a card to remove the excess. Job done.

This is a before and after windscreen repair, this type of windscreen repair is called a Star Break. One of the legs was not attached to the rest of the windscreen repair, so I used my slide hammer to connect the leg to the rest of the chip repair. The pictures are a bit blurry but if you click on the pic it will zoom in and give you a better picture

This Renault Laguna  has been in a rear end bump, the body shop need the heated rear windscreen and the n/s rear quarter cutting out. For the rear quarter I used my Kent tool on the outside top and on the inside bottom, then I fed some razor wire inside out top and bottom, attached my Handles and pulled the wire through the remaining urethane front side then back side, easy job to do. The heated rear is called encapsulated which means the glass edge trim is attached the to glass, so we need the get the heated rear out without damaging the rubber trim. We do that by pushing the razor wire in through the urethane at the bottom of the heated rear, there is easy access at that point. We feed the wire all the way round the outside of the glass making sure the wire is under the encapsulation, then at the point we made our first entry we overlap the wire slightly then push the wire in and through the windscreen glue. I attach my handles spray some windscreen cleaner then pull the handles the heated rear is out in no time with no damage to the encapsulation.

A windscreen repair on a Motorhome in Preston. Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry but if you click on the picture they zoom in and they are a better quality. In picture one you can see a nasty windscreen repair with a crack coming off it, the arrow points to the crack. In picture Two we are looking at the chip from inside the vehicle and you can see most of the chip has gone ecept for the end of the crack which is pointed out by the arrow. We wait for the resin to get to the end of the crack then we can cure the resin, it takes about another five minutes for the crack to fill completely.

The scuttle assembly on a Bmw 3 series 55 plate is a bit of a strip down. Above we have a series of pictures that show you how we strip down the scuttle in preperation for the car windscreen replacement. Pic 1 Remove six screws. Pic 2 Remove the plastic cowling. Pic 3 There are two sensors  that need removing, one just unplugs the other one twist and pulls out. Pic 4 Same again the opersite sensor. Pic 5 We have two plastic cowling that need removing, we flick open the little clips with our hook tool. Pic 6 Removing one of the plastic cowlings. Pic 7 At the front of the scuttle assembly we pull out this wire loom holder. Pic 8 In the bottom corners there are two nuts that hold this part of the assembly in place, we remove them. Pic 9 Removing this part of the scuttle assembly. Pic 10 We remove the pipe for the wiper jets. Pic 11 We remove the wipers. Pic 12 We unplug two conectors for the wiper jets. Pic 13 We pull off a rubber seal. Pic 14 Sorry i am having trouble uploading pic 14, We pull down the final part of the scuttle, this is held to the windscreen with a plastic glass edge rib which goes back onto the new windscreen ready for refitting the scuttle assembly.

As you can see a bit complex but these Bmws are a nice job to do. You can click on each picture to get a close up view.

This vehicle was involved in an accident; a pedestrian walked out into the road and was hit by this car. Everybody  involved in the accident are well with now injuries. The windscreen has taken the full impact of the pedestrian  that is why the pedestrian was able to get up and walk away from this accident.
